  • Graduate School Partners With Terp Tax to Offer Tax Preparation Help to Graduate Students

    The Graduate School is proud to announce that we are now partnering with TerpTax and the Robert H. Smith School of Business to provide a free, comprehensive tax preparation service for UMD graduate students. TerpTax, which is housed in the Robert H. Smith School of Business, is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) chapter, which is a program created by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide FREE tax return preparation to low-to-mid-income individuals and families, the elderly, students, and persons with disabilities.

  • Dr. James L. Kaplan Elected Board Chair of Newton-Wellesley Hospital

    Newton-Wellesley Hospital has elected Weston, Massachusetts resident Dr. James L. Kaplan ('70 PhD, Applied Mathematics) as Chair of the Hospital’s Board of Trustees. In this role, Dr. Kaplan will serve as the 40th Board Chair in the history of the hospital.

  • Graduate School to Hold Annual Orientation on August 20

    The Graduate School will host its campus-wide New Graduate Student Orientation on Monday, August 20, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.—12:00 noon, in the Grand and Colony Ballrooms of the Stamp Student Union. The orientation will be followed by an outdoor BBQ from 12:00 Noon—1:00 p.m. on McKeldin Mall for new graduate students who attend the orientation.  Registration is required.
