CONS -- Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology

CONS 608 Seminar in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology (1-4) Repeatable to 6 credits if content differs. Special topics and current literature in conservation biology and sustainable development.

CONS 609 Special Topics in Conservation Biology (1-3) Repeatable to 6 credits if content differs. Lectures, experimental courses and other special instructions in various subjects in conservation biology.

CONS 670 Conservation Biology (3) Prerequisite: permission of department. Single species conservation theory and practice: population viability assessment, conservation genetics and demography, metapopulations, reintroduction and conservation education.

CONS 680 Problem Solving in Conservation/Development (4) Prerequisite: permission of department. Students will be exposed to current problems in conservation/development through great lectures, field trips, interviews and appropriate literature. Working in teams, students will formulate recommendations based on a synthesis of biological, economic and policy considerations.

CONS 798 Research Papers in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology (1-4) Prerequisite: permission of department. For CONS majors only. Repeatable to 4 credits if content differs. Work on the required scholarly paper.
