GRADUATE SCHOOL FACULTY SUPPORT AWARDS:
RASA, CAPAA, SUPPORT FUND
In order to advance objectives of Transforming Maryland, the campus strategic plan, the Graduate School has revised the former General Research Board (GRB) and CAPA (Creative and Performing Arts) Awards.
The revised program, Graduate School Faculty Support Awards, comprises Research and Scholarship Awards (RASA) and Creative and Performing Arts Awards (CAPAA). The program also includes a Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Support Fund to be awarded on a matching basis with departments.
This revised program is intended: a) to support faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity while also enhancing graduate student mentoring and encouraging fellowship proposal writing; b) to streamline the previous award program for effectiveness and efficiency; c) to ensure accountability; and d) to increase visibility of faculty achievement.
Graduate School Faculty Support Awards are intended to be complementary to, and synergistic with, The Division of Research DRIF Incentive—Tier 1 program for grant seed funding. Faculty are encouraged to consider which of these funding programs is more suitable for their particular project.
