The Graduate Catalog is the official repository of all Graduate School policies and procedures.
You can find your graduate program's information in the Graduate Catalog's Program Listings. You can edit your program's information, including deadlines, by using the Graduate Catalog Editor. To get your login and password for this system, please contact Matt Hill at the Graduate School.
Deadline and other contractual changes--like degree requirements--are published in each new edition of the Graduate Catalog, which comes out at the beginning of each semester. Changes made after the first day of the academic semester will be made public on the first day of the subsequent semester.
The Graduate School's policies on Thesis and Dissertation Oral Examinations are available in the Graduate Catalog.
The Graduate School must approve any job assignment for a graduate assistant that would result in a work-week longer than 20 hours. A form and a detailed policy statement are available on the Graduate Fellowships website.
Toyin Oguntolu, Program Manager at the Graduate School, conducts training sessions for the Graduate Recommendation Screens in SIS.
Questions about MEGS should be directed to the MEGS Help Staff, available at apra-support@umd.edu.
No student will be admitted to the Graduate School with a cumulative undergraduate G.P.A. of under 3.0.
The Graduate School can cancel a student's admission via the SIS system. Contact Toyin Oguntolu to have a student's admission cancelled.
Fellowships for domestic students are handled completely through the Office of Student Financial Aid's SAM Web system. Fellowships for Non-Resident Aliens (NRAs) are handled through the SAM system and through the University's Payroll System (PHR). Contact Joan Hoffman in Payroll for more information.
The Graduate School enters tuition remission for all fellows, regardless of the source of funding, length of funding, or amount of credits to be remitted.
The minimum stipend levels are available on the Graduate Fellowships website.
