Where can I find an Application to Graduate School at the University of Maryland?

The University of Maryland no longer prints paper applications. The Graduate School strongly encourages prospective students to apply to the University online at http://www.gradschool.umd.edu/admission.

When are the deadlines for applying to a Graduate Program at the University of Maryland?

Each program maintains its own deadlines for application. For the Fall semester, these deadlines usually run from December 1st of the previous year to mid-February. Spring applications--if the program accepts them--are usually taken in September and October. Please contact the graduate program directly for specific information on deadlines.

Does the Graduate School maintain minimum GRE and / or TOEFL score requirements?

The Graduate School does not set minimum GRE requirements; each graduate program sets their own standards for GRE scores. There are, however, minimum Graduate School requirements for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Applicants with a score of 575 on the paper based test or 233 on the Computer based test (CBT) and above (with no sectional score below 50) may qualify an applicant for full admission. Applicants who score between 475 and 574 on the paper based test or 153-232 on the CBT may be considered for provisional admission, and will be required to take an English language proficiency examination upon arrival at the University of Maryland.

I am an international student. Where do I send the Certification of Finances Form?

You send the Certification of Finances form to Enrollment Services Operations, Application for Graduate Admissions, Room 0130 Mitchell Building, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742. The form is available here.

How can I pay the application fee?

Most students elect to pay the $60 application fee with a credit card during the electronic application process. If you wish, however, you can print out this form to pay your application fee by credit card (you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader): http://www.gradschool.umd.edu/gss/forms/cccardnew.pdf, and mail it to: Enrollment Services Office-Graduate Admissions, 0130 Mitchell Building, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742. You can also fax the form to: 301-314-9305. Payments by check or money order should include the applicant's full name and University ID (usually the Social Security Number), have encoded routing and transit numbers, and be drawn on a U.S. bank.

I have completed my application, but I am having trouble logging in to my Application Supplemental Form (ASF).

How can I check the status of my application?
