Fellowships & Awards
The University of Maryland Graduate School (GS) is committed to the success of graduate students and invests university financial resources to provide students the time and support needed to complete their studies and research. The GS has several fellowship and award programs that provide an array of financial support linked to the particular stage of a graduate student’s career.
Graduate School fellowships provide a stipend, and in some cases a tuition award, giving the student time to conduct research or write. Please consult the guidelines for each GS fellowship and award to see complete details about specific eligibility requirements, the nomination or application process, and deadlines.
Programs and departments also offer funding packages, which are often graduate assistantships that provide a stipend and tuition remission in exchange for service. Please visit the program websites for further details on these opportunities.
The University of Maryland is committed to diversity. Programs are encouraged to offer support to a diverse range of students consistent with campus principles of equal opportunity with the expectation that the cohort of Graduate School fellows and awardees will reflect this commitment to diversity.
