Ph.D. Luncheon Honors Fall Graduates

Cropped photo upalThe graduate community gathered last week to celebrate the fall term's Ph.D. graduates. Attended by families, supporters, faculty members, deans and and alumni, it was a room filled with expectation and gratitude. The keynote was given by distinguished guest and alumnus, Dr. Jeremy Rosner, Managing Partner of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, a polling and campaign consultancy headquartered in Washington.

Rosner spoke about his experiences beyond the Ph.D. and the rich, global portfolio of activities that such training can bring. "It was really important to hear about the necessity of critical thinking and how a doctoral degree can be used for various career paths," observed Jeffrey Franke, Assistant Dean. "It was a remarkable message, and after the event, our students acknowledged as much," he added.

"After completing such a rigorous program, we seldom get a chance to reflect on the journey or even consider next steps. Dr. Rosner’s presentation gave attendees an occasion to do just that," said Dr. Zipporah Miller, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies graduate, and Senior Manager of Organizational Learning at the Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
